 문장에는 주어 동사가 무조건 하나씩 있다. 만약 주어나 동사가 두개 이상 있다면 접속사가 있거나, (동사처럼 보이지만) 분사이거나, 관계대명사가 함께 쓰였을 가능성이 있다. 상급 독해를 하기 위해서는 이러한 것들을 잘 파악해야 한다. 이를 파악하는 연습을 많이 해서, 의식하지 않고 직독직해하는 노력이 필요하다.

1.    관계대명사, that명사절, -생략
